Adapting Business to the Speed of Remote (3/26/2020)

Most businesses are now encouraging or even mandating that employees work from home amid global health concerns over the coronavirus. Of course, the safety and well-being of all employees and their families is paramount. But ‘working remotely’ is new to many government and agency staff. Agencies have had to react quickly and very often without a plan to account for a global pandemic.
 
Two factors appear to be challenging our clients:  
 
The first is simply the move to remote environments. Most of the state DOTs that we work with have scrambled to get staff home with enough equipment to cover key business areas and day-to-day activities. The BlackCat Suite of Products for Grant and Data Management is a Software as a Service (SaaS) system meaning it is hosted and available to the DOT and their recipients wherever they are … in the office or remote.
 
The second, is the need to re-establish critical systems and essential workflows to ensure productivity. For example, the ability to process essential transactions such as approving an invoice or executing critical documents or agreements can be crucial to the process but cumbersome when managed remotely.

Highlight: Panther International
offers Electronic Signature as one of the many optional components for all of our BlackCat Applications. The inclusion of the eSignature functionality allows DOT users to log on remotely, create an agreement or approve an invoice, review and validate the document. And then at the push of a button, the agreement document can be sent via email to a variety of signers in the appropriate order of signature. Signers access the document via a link in an email. They are directed to sign in the appropriate location and when executed, the document is triggered to the next signer until done. Once fully executed, the appropriate users are notified and the document can be sent and stored in the appropriate database or system. No one has to leave their remote location. Documents that took days or weeks to execute, can conceivably take minutes or hours using eSignature.
 
Now that Congress has signed the new $2 Trillion Coronavirus Aid Package, there is no better time to be prepared with a quick and efficient critical document approval method.
